Dr Edward de Bono

Dr Edward de Bono is a worldwide respected guru in the field of thinking skills and creativity. He has authored over 75 books, which have been translated into 35 languages and has lectured on his unique theories and concepts to diverse audiences in 45 different countries across the globe.

His background in medicine, psychology and philosophy enabled him to invent the term “Lateral Thinking” in 1968. He recently founded the World Centre for New Thinking in Malta and continues to influence governments, boardrooms, classrooms and worldwide organisations in their innovation practices. Today, Dr de Bono’s methods are available for all to learn, and are packaged in practical training courses. The techniques have been proven and are used by some of the world’s top blue-chip companies as cornerstones of innovation strategy.

Nicola Tyler

Nicola Tyler is considered South Africa’s local expert in the field of lateral thinking.  She has been personally trained by Dr. Edward de Bono in his creative and lateral methodology and is a master at applying the techniques in real business situations.  As Chief Executive Officer of Business Results Group (Pty) Ltd Nicola has facilitated workshops across a variety of industries including mining, healthcare, manufacturing, financial services and professional services.

Prior to starting Business Results Group, she was Managing Director of Competitive Thinking Company, the official South African provider of Edward de Bono’s Thinking Methods.  Nicola has travelled the world, working alongside Dr de Bono. She is a Master Trainer in Dr. de Bono’s Six Thinking Hats® and Lateral Thinking™ and Direct Attention Thinking Tools, as well as an accredited facilitator in Ned Herrmann’s Brain Dominance Instrument.

Nigel Smith

Nigel has over the last 4 years focused his career as a Professional Trainer, Speaker, Motivator and Consultant. Until August 2003 he utilized his expertise in the world’s number one pharmaceutical sales force where he headed up sales training and development for South and Central Africa.

Nigel, who has also been trained and gained valuable experience internationally, holds a BA H.M.S degree. His true passion for the development and training of the workforce and Leadership within organizations has translated into his association with Nicola Tyler’s Business Results Group, where he has been certified as an official Trainer of the Edward De Bono Thinking Tools and Methodologies, studying under Nicola Tyler.                                                                                                       

Itha Taljaard

Itha Taljaard is the founder of Sense2Solve, a consultancy that helps to train and facilitate creativity, innovation, future scenarios, strategy, product development, and problem solving.  Understanding how the brain works and applying very specific methodologies, she is able to help you generate innovative solutions to existing business challenges.

Prior to starting Sense2Solve, she held various positions at Mintek, Liberty Life, Standardbank and Absa including Futurist (SBSA Innovation and Foresight Unit) and Chief Innovation Officer, heading up Innovation Capability Development (Absa).

Cathy van Heerden

Cathy is an internationally recognized Master Trainer for Dr. Edward de Bono's "Six Thinking Hats®". She also facilitates and teaches the world renowned concept "Lateral Thinking™", which offers a variety of powerful and revolutionary tools for creativity within the business environment.

These processes tap into the latent intelligence and abilities of people to maximize their thinking and sub-sequent decision-making processes in a fast and effective way.
